I was ready to throw in the towel.

This morning started out a little bit sketchy.

Our 3 year old was having all kinds of meltdowns over little things and was hungry but wouldn’t eat. I kept thinking about yesterday and how little he had to eat and wanted so very much to just give him one of his old standby snacks if only to put something in his belly. But his rational side kicked in after a timeout, he gave me a hug, and we fixed him a  big bowl of blueberries to go with his oatmeal pancakes and almond milk (which he still doesn’t know isn’t the same as his cow’s milk).

But I was close to throwing in the towel.

I am very thankful Gerry was here to help calm Sheppy down so I could keep fixing breakfast, and am reminded that change is almost never immediate. Especially a lifestyle change as major as overhauling most of our diet.

It might take a while before we figure everything out, and that’s okay.

It’s a journey. A couple roadblocks are to be expected!
